It's November, which means many people are reflecting on the season of Thanksgiving. Not just the holiday, but the reasons they are giving thanks this year. We asked a handful of our friends in the local business community what they are most thankful for as we enter into the holidays.

Phillip Beasley - HydroHoist of Alabama

"I am thankful for all my customers that trust me with their investments and I’m thankful for my dedicated employees."

Katie Brown - Edward Jones

"I am thankful for the group of professional ladies who surround me and encourage me. And I’m thankful to be able to reciprocate that.

"I am thankful for the opportunity to travel and experience other cultures.

"I am thankful for God’s Grace, His unending grace.

"I am thankful for cooler weather and quality leather boots."

Keith and Donna Lann - Guthrie’s Chicken of Cullman

"We are honored to be celebrating 15 years in business and we are very thankful for our wonderful customers!"

Declan Yearwood - Brothers Concrete Supply & Yearwood Construction

"I’m grateful for second chances, good friends, a loving family, dedicated employees, loyal customers and to be living back in my hometown doing what I love."

Melissa Curtis - Lake League and Home League Real Estate

"Many things come to mind when I think about what I’m most thankful for. I am incredibly thankful for the amazing team that stands by my side, and the unwavering support of my family. Building Lake League and Home League have been a journey filled with challenges and triumphs, and I couldn't have done it without the dedication and hard work of my team. Their commitment to our shared vision has been nothing short of inspiring. Equally important, my family has been my rock, providing endless encouragement and understanding during both the highs and lows of entrepreneurship. I am truly grateful for the opportunities we've created, the bonds we've formed and the future we're building together."

Whitney Cheatham - Infusion Wellness & SPA

"I am grateful for the chance to live each day with the people I love and care about. I am thankful for the support of my friends and family, who are always there to encourage me and to help me make the best decisions. I am also thankful for the opportunity to grow and learn from my mistakes."

A word from our editorial coordinator, Wendy Sack

"The Thanksgiving season is my absolute favorite time of year! I love ALL the things: cooler weather, sweaters, falling leaves and even shorter days. Most importantly, I love Thanksgiving itself. It's all the family time of Christmas, without the monetary obligations. Just family, food and the comfort of my Nanny's chicken and dressing - and cranberry sauce...from the can! This year I am so thankful for my family, closest friends, wonderful colleagues and my animals. Plus the discovery of my new favorite book, 'A Man Called Ove.' It is WONDERFUL! Curl up under a fuzzy blanket and see for yourself. It truly is a blessed life."
