Today I wanted to share one of my husband and I's favorite gems in our hometown: Monocacy Crossing. One of our first experiences with this place was valentines day pre-COVID and it did not disappoint. I had the best steak salad I have ever had that night. To be 100% frank, we have never had a bad meal.

We have become obsessed with some of the appetizers to the point that we have just gone there to sit at the bar and share apps with a cocktail. The last time we did that I ordered a cocktail that the bartender had never heard of and she quickly did some research and served it to me with a smile on her face. During COVID times, we have made a point to get take out from there which has also been a pleasant experience. I know now eating at a restaurant can be a bit of a different experience for everyone. When the weather was warmer we did eat there on their outdoor patio and it was perfect. They did a great job with keeping us separated, cleaning and just making us feel comfortable. I would say if you are local to the Frederick area it is worth a try, if you aren't comfortable eating in, try the take out. Here are a few of our recommendations:

  • Chicken Empanada with Salsa Verde
  • Buffalo Cauliflower with Housemade Blue Cheese Dressing
  • Grilled Sirloin Salad with Goat Cheese and Spicy Pecans
  • Thai Chicken Bites with Chili Glaze
  • Crispy Red Onion Straws with Spicy Ranch Dipping Sauce
  • Dinner Burger
  • Wild Mushrooms and Wilted Greens over Crispy Ricotta Gnocchi
