“For instance, when someone wants to remodel a pool, they can choose to replaster the pool and keep their incandescent light, if it’s operational, or they can upgrade to LED lights, which are more expensive albeit use less electricity. Or, in the ‘Luxury’ category, they can splurge on a pebble finish pool interior highlighted by color-changing LED lights, which are very luxurious. Either of these three categories give clients a finished pool but at different price points.”
When meeting with customers, Kristina creates a storyboard of their home to help them fully envision all their project’s details and options.
“My expertise is to create the storyboard which helps to make sure that all the materials we will use are harmonious and that the aesthetic desired by the customer is achieved,” she notes.
Many readers may wonder how long it takes from the design of a project to its completion. Kristina outlines a rough timeline, with the proviso that, of course, the plan may change depending on the project.
“After the customer chooses to proceed with us, we must develop a budget, which usually takes about a week or so, and then, we conduct a design review so that the customer can give us feedback and we can make any modifications,” Kristina explains. “Once we have architectural drawings, we pull permits for the customer, which is a service that is very helpful to them. Then, we start construction and the time needed for that will vary depending on how complicated a project it is; that generally lasts between 3 weeks for a simple project to 3 or 4 months for a more extensive one.”
