Enjoy a bite – or two – at Taste of Southlake

Get ready for an unforgettable culinary event and evening of fun celebrating Southlake and surrounding-area restaurants on May 16th

A Taste of Southlake is returning on Thursday, May 16, this year at the Westin Hotel Dallas Southlake. This event promises that guests will enjoy an exceptional journey of taste, live music and a great time. Best of all, the proceeds from this event will benefit the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

Tarrant Area Food Bank empowers communities to eliminate hunger by providing food, education and resources. Serving as a regional clearinghouse for donated food, the organization provides a nutritious mix of fresh, frozen and shelf-stable products to a network of hunger-relief charities and social services agencies across North Texas, which includes Fort Worth and 13 surrounding counties.

Buying a ticket and attending Taste of Southlake benefits so many people in such great ways. Last year’s event raised enough to feed 5,000 people, making a meaningful difference in the wellbeing of our local communities.

“That’s when you know you’ve made a difference,” says Southlake-based State Farm Insurance agent Vic McLane, who was one of the founding members of this fabulous taste event in 2022.

It all stemmed from an initiative of the Southlake Chamber of Commerce 2021-2022 Leadership Southlake class. For more than 30 years, the Leadership Southlake program has offered a dynamic, fun way for community and civic leaders to learn about Southlake. Part of the Leadership Southlake experience is a community service project that each year’s class plans and implements as its legacy. What started out as a class project event in 2022 has now turned into A Taste of Southlake Inc., a non-profit organization focused on promoting area restaurants and contributing to local organizations in need. While still in its infancy, Taste of Southlake has already grown stronger and more exciting for 2024.

The Taste of Southlake brings people together, connects them with local eateries that set the Southlake area apart, and allows everyone participating a way to give back to our North Texas communities.

Like other “Taste of” events in other cities, the event highlights wonderful foods.

This year, the lineup of restaurants serving up their specialties includes Alli’s Sweet Shop; Calabrese Italian restaurant; Feedstore BBQ; Ferah Tex-Med Kitchen, specializing in Mediterranean and American fusion cuisine; Jellico’s American restaurant; Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse; Shuck Me Oysters, Shrimp & Fish; Personalized Grazing, specializing in catering and events; Wildwood Grill Southlake; Zafiros Mexican Grill and Cantina; and more.

The event is sponsored this year by Grubbs Family of Auto Dealerships.

The Taste of Southlake's Executive Board members are Tanya Boyette, Ronak Kothari and Vic McLane.

The Board of Directors includes Paul Alwine, Beth Chernik, Mario Cordova, Ally Gilpin, Diana McWilliams and Daniel Paschke.
