Owners Natasha and Asgar Ali didn’t bat an eye when they considered new career directions and decided to open up a new business together. Natasha was formerly a television news producer, and her husband, Asgar, spent almost 20 years in finance. Business ownership has always run in the family.
“Being first-generation Americans, we watched our parents lean into business ownership,” says Asgar. “They took risks and were a good example for us when we decided to explore this type of opportunity for ourselves. We want to be an example for the next generation—our son and daughter—so that they can appreciate the hard work and exciting possibilities of business ownership.”
After researching a wide range of different businesses, the couple chose to open a Deka Lash studio because they knew that this was a business that could positively impact women.
“Women’s beauty is a timeless endeavor,” says Asgar, “and this business will provide us with opportunities to empower our team members as well as our clients.” The couple envisions a business that will offer staff members a sense of ownership and the ability to achieve financial freedom.
“This is a safe place—something that can be hard to find in corporate America,” says Natasha. “We understand people as human beings, not just a cog in the wheel. We tell the women working at Deka Lash that this is a springboard for whatever else they want to do—whether that’s within this company or elsewhere.”
All technicians are licensed cosmetologists or estheticians and receive additional proprietary training by Deka Lash. “Our ladies are really passionate about what they do,” says Natasha.
A wide range of lash extension services include “TrueXpress, which gives a natural look in half the time of other standard full-set lash appointments, Classic Lashes, and voluminous lash looks. Monthly memberships are available, or clients can pay as they go.
“There are lash styles for different facial shapes, ethnic backgrounds, and lifestyles,” says Asgar. “They are perfect for women who love to go to the gym, swim, and be active. They stay on and give you a perfect look. Many women like to come in for them right before they go on vacation!”
Deka Lash has added several new treatments to their list of services. Sugaring is a non-invasive hair removal process for the face that is safe for all skin types, and dermaplaning, which exfoliates tiny hairs and dead skin. Considered a mini-facial, it provides stellar results. They also offer a Total Brow Service which includes personalized brow mapping to enhance the look of your natural lashes, and brow lamination, which sculpts and defines.
The studio also sells eye creams, serums, and other products complimentary to lash extensions because they are oil-free. The public is invited to stop by Deka Lash on Thursday, May 2, for their Grand Opening celebration from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. It will be a great opportunity to make connections in the neighborhood.
