Meet the New Owners of Erio's

Local Eatery Bids Nod to Italian Roots

Petro (Pete) Pulizzi and his wife, Joan, immigrated to St. Louis almost 60 years ago. Ten years after arriving, they opened Erio's Ristorante in Florissant. In 1991, they relocated the restaurant to 951 Jungermann Road, in St. Peters. For almost 15 years, Joseph (Joe) Creach, 33, learned the business at the owner's side, and when Pete retired earlier this year, he sold the business to Joe and his brother Andrew, 28.

"I worked at Erio's all through college and real estate school, but I just really felt that the restaurant is where I wanted to be," says Joe. While the business may be under new management, it is still the same Erio's that customers have come to know and love—albeit, with a few more offerings such as lunch on Fridays and Saturdays.

"We make everything fresh," says Joe. "Our seafood is fresh. We cut our own chicken, and we do everything the old-fashioned way."
