Q&A with Sarah Rossman, Owner of Arrowleaf Photogrpahy (IG @ArrowleafPhoto, FB @ArrowleafPhotography)
How did you begin photographing pets? I began my pet photography journey by capturing pictures of my amazing dogs while at home. My love of pets landed me at a local Humane Society volunteering and taking portraits of the animals in need of a good home. I instantly fell in love with the art of capturing the personalities of each animal for potential adopters to see the beauty and kindness I saw every single day there.
What inspires you? My love for animals has brought my business to life and I couldn’t be happier with the stories I have heard and the lives that I have met throughout the process. Bringing out the emotional connection between pets and their owners in photographs is one of my greatest passions. Each of my sessions involve a lot of cuddling, love, and treats. This ensures the raw, true emotions [to] emerge and flourish with every shot. This is my passion, plain and simple, and I can’t wait to see what this brings me next.
What makes for a great photography session? I have always pictured my photography to be something of substance and to be enjoyable for each of my clients. Each session is personalized and tailored to the client. I learn about their story, their lives, and their love. With each session, comes new and exciting adventures for my photography. Learning more about the love between a pet and it’s owner is a gift that lights up my passion for this business and helps me continue the journey.
What is important to convey to pet owners? I want my clients to know that I am here to help you capture those beautiful moments between you and your animals. I will help you bring the warmth and love you have for each other into each photo and help you hold onto those moments forever.
