Women On The Go

Safe, Reliable And Friendly Transportation

Getting into a hired car with a stranger can be intimidating, especially for women. Heather Lehrmann understood this, so she founded Nash Pink Ride in 2023 to offer a more personal, safe, and comfortable alternative.

All someone has to do is schedule a date and time, and the bright pink sparkly 2024 Honda Pilot with pink seats will be there, anytime of the day or night.

When Heather was thinking of moving out of the area, she transferred ownership to Franklin resident Shannon Kelley-Curry in February of this year. “I thought her idea was great, plus I love to drive,” says Shannon.

In fact, Shannon is a professional driver. She has a class A CDL (commercial driver’s license), so passengers can be assured that they have someone competent at the wheel. And her pink, cheerful outfits will make anyone smile.

Although Nash Pink Ride was mainly founded to offer safe rides for women, men are also welcome in the pink SUV, either accompanied by women or by themselves. Shannon also offers rides for children. “Parents often contact me and ask me to deliver their children from point A to point B,” she says. “I also get a lot of college students.”

In addition to Franklin, Nash Pink Ride services the areas of Nashville, Spring Hill, Thompson's Station, Murfreesboro, and, of course, Nashville International Airport. Shannon makes many trips to and from BNA, sometimes at 4:00 and 5:00 a.m.

In order to transport larger groups, she plans to purchase a bigger SUV, and one day may even have a small fleet of pink vehicles with verified safe drivers.

Coming from a corporate background – Shannon was a financial analyst for Caterpillar Financial – this job is much less stressful, and a lot more fun. “I've gotten to meet so many people and hear their life stories,” she says. “They also share where they’re coming from or where they’re going. It’s been great.”
