About Us
In 1977, a group of local church leaders started C.R.O.S.S., Christians Reaching Out in Social Service, to get food and clothing to low-income families in northwest Hennepin County. Nearly 50 years later, CROSS Services is still doing that work, now from a 12,000-square-foot building in Rogers it moved into in 2004 after outgrowing a small warehouse in Osseo. At the center is a food shelf built around healthy options, plus community partner sites that bring food out to where people are. In 2013 CROSS added family advocates, staff who sit down one-on-one with families to work on the reasons behind a hard stretch and connect them with other help. The programs get specific. Peace of Mind financial assistance helps with transportation, IDs, employment readiness and housing stability. Peaceful Dreams gets beds to kids who need them. CROSS-Over Scholarships pay for extracurricular activities. There are backpacks and school supplies, and a Birthday and Holiday Toy Shop. The Sweet Repeat Boutique sells affordable clothing and household goods. In a recent statewide diaper drive, CROSS donors gave 18,116 diapers, nearly 9 percent of everything collected in Minnesota. CROSS is a 501(c)(3) powered by community donations, volunteers and a volunteer board, serving Rogers, Maple Grove, Osseo, Corcoran, Dayton and Champlin. Volunteer, donate or schedule a tour at crossservices.org, or call (763) 425-1050. CROSS is located at 12915 Weinand Circle in Rogers.
