Emily Steinberg-Cash felt God’s call to return to her home state of Tennessee during an unlikely season. Emily had traveled for more than 15 years selling her self-designed decor, had recently renovated her Florida home after a divorce and had landed a major licensing deal. The timing was unexpected, but she knew she needed to listen to God.
Emily says, “Coming home was a desire for a peaceful property with nature and history—to see the sun rise and sun set.”
She discovered it in the 1835 William Washington Seay home. Finding the historic property in 1991 felt like she had “traveled back in time down a road past farmland and a flowing creek with remnants of stacked stone fences.”
Emily has preserved that history through thoughtful renovations—even earning a place on the National Register of Historic Places—while creating space for new memories. It is now known as Lebanon’s beloved Watermelon Moon Farm and home to Emily and her husband, Harold Cash, with whom she shares 21 years of marriage, along with dogs, cats, chickens and more.
Watermelon Moon Farm has evolved into what Emily describes as a “one-of-a-kind magical combination of seasonal shopping and specialty events luncheons.”
Three downstairs rooms hold unique curated finds like home decor, seasonal delights and food products, while the dining room hosts her renowned farm-to-fork holiday luncheons.
In addition to luncheons, seasonal events at the farm are unforgettable. There will be a Christmas Holiday Open House Nov. 5–7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring festive fun, food and shopping.
For Emily, bringing the community together and helping them create special memories in a warm environment is her heart for Watermelon Moon Farm.
She says, “That is my intention to serve the community that has welcomed me home.”
