Shopping is Gina Pellegrini's life calling, and has been since her introduction to the pursuit at age ten. “I’ll never forget the day my glamorous aunt, on a visit from Italy, brought me to Marshall Field’s – the most opulent of all Chicago department stores,” reminisced Gina. “I grew to love everything there is to about shopping; not just the best part, but also how brands, styles, and layouts blend together into the perfect experience.”
Gina spent decades dreaming about what her own boutique would be like. Through the ternary powers of ambition, determination, and a successful career in the financial services industry, that dream finally manifested as a pop-up store in 2017, and then as a brick-and-mortar just off the intersection of Pioneer Trail and 169 two years later.

“This is my passion project,” said Gina. “That means I get to be particular about what it offers for sale! They’re mostly items my niece Kristina and I discovered at fashion shows around the country, which we have personally tried on and adore. And because everyone loves variety as much as they do one-of-a-kind looks, we typically avoid carrying multiples of the same size in any given style.”
Chic fashion is only one element of Gina’s vision. Another is the warm and personable service that nearly exclusively exists as fossil evidence nowadays.
“Most ladies just want to peruse during their first visit, of course,” said Gina. “And we totally understand that this is the Midwest, where pushy salespeople are a common phobia. But as soon as someone requests help with sizing, or finding the right accessories to complement the look she’s going for, or coordinating a garment with a piece of her existing wardrobe, we are only too happy to be there for her. And when one asks for guidance expanding her horizons with a fresh new style or color? Well, then we’re in heaven. Several of our repeat customers (who we call ‘Bella Beauties’) ask us to set aside a few pieces or create an ensemble they’ll like before visiting our store. It’s always a delight to see their eyes light up. There’s nothing better than sharing that exciting moment of discovery.”
There is much to discover, as Bella Gina Boutique leaves the basics to the bigger stores. “We specialize in the bold and the unique; memorable fashions, that will never go out of style,” explained Gina. “People often ask me where they can find whichever clothing I’m wearing. They’re disappointed when they learn I stopped offering it years ago!”
