When it comes to health and wellness, Denton native and nurse practitioner Jennifer Foxworth believes in addressing more than just symptoms. At Be Whole Wellness Center, she and her team focus on helping people thrive in mind, body, and spirit through integrative, preventative care. We sat down with her to learn more about the vision, services, and community heart behind this growing center.
Q: What inspired you to start Be Whole Wellness Center in Denton?
This is my hometown. I graduated from Denton Ryan High School and started my nursing career in the ICU at Denton Regional Medical Center. This community has always been home. After working as a nurse and later as a nurse practitioner, I noticed how many people were struggling with health issues that weren’t fully addressed by traditional medicine. I wanted to create a place where patients could receive the best of both worlds: advanced medical treatments alongside holistic, natural options. At Be Whole, we don’t just treat illness once it happens. We work to prevent it by addressing root causes and supporting the whole person.
Q: How do you define wellness?
To me, wellness isn’t just the absence of disease. It’s feeling vibrant, balanced, and supported in every aspect of life. At Be Whole, we embody wellness by blending traditional medicine with holistic therapies. Every treatment plan is designed to restore balance, optimize function, and help patients live with resilience and energy.
Q: Why is a holistic approach so important?
So many people are burned out, inflamed, and overwhelmed. Traditional medicine often stops at symptom management, but we want to connect the dots between hormones, gut health, nutrition, stress, and sleep. By taking a whole-person approach, we create individualized plans that not only help people get well but stay well long-term.
Q: What services do you offer, and what sets you apart?
We use an integrative and preventative approach in everything we do. Our initial appointments with our board-certified nurse practitioner last at least an hour and a half, because we want our patients to feel truly heard and understood about their health. We love thinking outside of the traditional medicine box to get people optimized. Our services include hormone therapy, IV therapy, ozone, aesthetics, medical weight-loss, peptide therapy, and more. What sets us apart is that we take a whole-person approach. For example, with medical weight-loss, we don’t just prescribe a medication — we work on lifestyle changes, nutrition, gut health, sleep, stress, and even how the body processes hunger cues. Every service we provide is personalized to help patients achieve lasting results and whole-body wellness.
Q: Which treatments have been most transformative?
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) has been life-changing for many patients. It can restore energy, improve relationships, and even help some patients taper off antidepressants. Prolozone therapy is another powerful option. It’s a natural injection that helps heal joints and soft tissue, often avoiding the need for invasive procedures. Ozone IV therapy has been transformative for patients dealing with mold toxicity, Lyme disease, and chronic fatigue. We’ve also seen great success with peptide therapies and Alma TED for painless hair restoration.
Q: How do you connect locally?
We love being part of the Denton community! We regularly host educational seminars and open house events, and we partner with local organizations for wellness initiatives. We’re also honored to have been voted Best of Denton Med Spa back-to-back in 2024 and 2025, and this year we also won for Best Weight Loss. Those recognitions mean so much because they come directly from our community’s support. Giving back through education, service, and patient-centered care is at the heart of what we do.
Q: What tips do you have for staying balanced in the New Year?
Prioritize rest, hydration, and movement, even in small ways. Quality sleep is key. It balances hormones and regulates stress. Nourish your body with whole foods, set healthy boundaries, and remember that self-care isn’t selfish. It helps you show up better for your loved ones.
Q: What’s a daily ritual that keeps you grounded?
Starting my mornings with prayer and quiet reflection grounds me. It helps me set the tone for the day, align my priorities, and remind myself why I do what I do. I also enjoy walking several miles whenever I can — it’s my time to listen to podcasts, think things through, and be in nature. It allows me to tune out the noise of social media and really hear the Lord’s direction for the future.
Q: If someone is just beginning their wellness journey, what advice would you give?
Start small but start. Focus on one or two key changes, like sleep and hydration, then build from there. Wellness is about consistency, not perfection. And don’t be afraid to ask for help. A supportive provider and community can make all the difference.
