Deck Building, Remodeling, and Restoration Fit for Royalty

According to Google, the most expensive yacht in the world is owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. It is 533 feet long, worth a cool $1.5 billion, and pretty nice.

No amount of research, however, reveals whether or not Abramovich has a deck in his backyard.

Does that necessarily mean he hasn’t got one? If you don’t go muddying up your reasoning by applying logic to everything you read, it does.

And it also means one more thing. You can have it even better than a billionaire.

You can live like royalty, no less.

All you need is Castle Deck.

“The contracting business is fiercely competitive,” said Alex Corbin, proprietor of Corbin Restoration & Construction. “You’ll never stand out unless you’re truly outstanding. That was one of the first lessons I learned after following in my dad’s footsteps to become an entrepreneur.”

It was an auspicious lesson for Alex, who espouses the old-fashioned and increasingly rare Build It the Right Way, Once mentality. It drove him to grow his business into one of the top 10 percent of contractors in Minnesota, with five stars to show for its 185 Google reviews.

“I enjoy building decks most of all,” said Alex. “I founded Castle Deck for that purpose alone – well, that, and to provide my wife and children with the best quality of life and future as I’m able, of course. And at this point, it’s safe to say Castle Deck is a success on both fronts. We’ve currently got projects booked eight months in advance.”

Skill

“Corbin Restoration & Construction has an amazing team of roofers, framers, remodelers, and other skilled subcontractors,” Alex continued. “None of them work for Castle Deck. Everyone on that team specializes in one thing and one thing only. I’ll let you guess which. They are also full-time employees; not subs.

“Castle Deck’s 14 specialists share almost 100 years of combined experience between them. A lot of that comes from the seasoned pros, but not all of it. My latest hire is 19 years old – a young man after my own heart, who came to me not just because he wanted a job, but because he specifically wants to build decks. His resume? The beautiful wooden boat he built with his own two hands.

“But at the end of the day, skill and enthusiasm aren’t everything. Our team members can spend up to a month on a larger project, so it’s important they always present themselves as consummate professionals. That means living up to our company culture, which values accountability, friendliness, and showing up early. We know our client is making a big investment in their most valuable possession, and we want them certain they’ve put their trust in the right team.”

Quality

“Our field manager has had to practically pull people off the job at the end of the day, solely because they didn’t want to stop working,” said Alex. “That’s the kind of drive that only comes from one place: confidence you’re building a thing of permanence.

“A lot of deck builders seek an advantage by expediting their process somehow, or using fewer or cheaper materials. Castle Deck is the only one I know of that does exactly the opposite. We're Pro Builder Certified with Joist Runner because we’ve yet to identify a better deck scaffolding system. Even so, we still install extra fasteners just to make double sure everything stays where it belongs. We build frames out of kiln-dried heat-treated lumber, which is as strong as it is resistant to warping. Our proprietary deck building system even includes its own special, patented tools to ensure zero undulation. We sell them to other builders who also refuse to deliver sagging, uneven, or wavy decks.

“Is it ‘overbuilding?’ Yes! That’s exactly what I’d call it. We overbuild everything that we touch – not just meeting every standard specified by our materials’ manufacturers, but surpassing them – and we back it all up with our industry’s best warranties.”

Beauty

“We build gorgeous decks: every bit as intricate as they are long lasting, which look like natural extensions of their surroundings – not afterthoughts.

“We learn a lot during our initial consultation. That starts with the size and style of deck you would like, as well as the shape of your home and vibe of its backyard. We determine whether you might like to add a roof to your deck someday, or convert it to a three-season porch. Then we get right down to every last detail: the colors, the railings, and the custom inlays, demonstrating each to you in person using the complete set of samples we bring wherever we go. We’ll even create a 3D render for you. The only way you’ll be able to take a closer look at your new deck is by standing on it.

“And we’ll take good care of you in the meantime. My phone is on during all 15 hours of my workday. Have a question? Just call! You’ll also receive emails keeping you apprised of our progress. And while we’re on your property, we’ll take all due care to preserve it. No trailers. No stray nails for kids or pets to step on. Every tool needed for your project, locked up tight on-site until we return to resume work the next day.

“Reach out if you need deck restoration or remodeling, too! Whether we’re only replacing its decking or giving it a total overhaul, we’ll make your existing deck fit for royalty.”
