White Shepherd Coffee is more than a place to grab a latte; it’s a new chapter for Adam and Kristi Sturgeon as they build community one cup at a time. What began as a mobile coffee trailer quickly grew into something bigger. Locals kept returning, not just for drinks, but for the sense of connection. Within a year of making the move to Spring Hill from Southern California in 2022, the couple opened their first trailer with the hopes and dreams of combining their love for coffee and community. With lots of prayers and support from their neighbors, White Shepherd developed into a stand-alone coffee shop and before they knew it, a second mobile coffee shop was in the works. With years of passion and hard work coming to fruition, the pair were able to open their second storefront location in Spring of 2025, nestled in the center of the Tollgate Village Business Development.
White Shepherd honors both family and service, acting as a nod to their beloved dogs and Adam’s years of service as Sergeant for the Long Beach Police Department. A patch wall inside both shops reflects his law enforcement history and the connections they continue to build within the community. Family is at the heart of all they do at White Shepherd; Adam and Kristi work hard to run the business, while Adam’s parents lend immense support and guidance. Even their oldest daughter is stepping behind the counter, learning the ropes and becoming part of the family operation. Sourced from a roaster in Washington, White Shepherd’s organic beans come from Ethiopia, Guatemala and beyond. Their signature drink, the White Shepherd, is a white chocolate blend inspired by his father’s favorite candy, Almond Joy, but their real specialty is the atmosphere—warm, welcoming and full of local spirit. Guests can also enjoy a menu of homemade breakfast and lunch items, making White Shepherd a place to linger, connect and relish every visit.
"We can't put into words how much we appreciate our staff who feel like family," Kristi shares. "They are a true extension of our vision and love for community. We couldn't do it without them!"
The holiday season is a truly magical time at White Shepherd, where Kristi transforms the space with cozy, festive décor that captures the warmth of the season. Guests can enjoy a delightful selection of seasonal favorites, including the fan-favorite peppermint mocha, rich flavored hot chocolates, and comforting spiced cider. The White Shepherd team loves seeing their shop come alive with holiday cheer—and this year is especially exciting as they celebrate their very first holiday season at Tollgate Village!
"It will be fun to see the regulars and neighborhood families come in and experience the season with us," Kristi shares. "Whether it's taking pictures with the Christmas tree or ordering a new seasonal drink, [I'm looking forward] to be living through a new season with a new community!"
