Cozy Reads, Springfield Roots

Curl up on snowy days with one of these enchanting books written by local authors

As you walk down the ornate hallway of The Library Center, you may notice the golden names of legendary authors illuminating your path - guiding you towards thousands of literary treasures.

Once a month in the library’s 150-seat auditorium, you will find members of the Springfield Writer’s Guild gathered for a time of encouragement and creative exchange. Though their names may not yet be plated in gold, their works glitter with promise, just waiting to be discovered by a new reader.

The Springfield Writer’s Guild, established in 1943, is the Ozark’s largest writing group. This diverse group includes people of all ages and genders who are artisans in poetry, literature, scriptwriting, songwriting, and other forms of authorship.

As you warm yourself by the fire and curl up with a steaming cup of chai, consider diving into one of these homegrown picks.
