One of Hendersonville’s crown jewels is its parks and recreation system. Spread all across the city, the parks attract thousands of locals and visitors each year who are eager to enjoy their favorite outdoor activities.
However, the Hendersonville Parks & Recreation Department does not just serve two-footed humans – it also serves our four-footed canine friends at Samson’s Dog Park. Nestled at the back of Memorial Park, Samson’s Dog Park features two separate fenced-in playgrounds, one each for large and small dogs.
Like many people, local designer Eileen Minton takes her dog Mia to the dog park almost every day.
“Dogs need friends just like people do,” says Eileen. “The dog park gives them a safe place to run, play and socialize.”
While the fur babies get to play with their friends, the dog park also provides benefits for their humans, too.
"The dog park isn't just good for dogs – it's a place where people connect, too,” adds Eileen. “I've made as many friends as my dog has.”
