Want to have Northern California Wines in your home?  It's easy, Deep Roots Wine and Tasting Market showcases spectacular boutique wines and champagnes to enjoy at home with friends and family this season. Having world-class wines brought right to Roswell’s doorstep is a special gift to our community.

We had the opportunity to attend an unforgettable wine experience, tasting the best flavors harvest season has to offer. Immersing ourselves with winery owners and winemakers really helps put in perspective the hard work and massive staff that goes into producing these special sips. During harvest season, the hills and valleys are full of the aromatic smells where the tireless work goes into picking the ripe grapes from dusk to dawn in many instances.

 Ram's Gate Winery:

Our first stop was Ram's Gate Winery as you make the drive up to California Wine country, this winery is perched upon a hill where the San Fran Bay meets the edges of Napa and Sonoma counties. It is a great pace to start your wine journey on their 28 acre estate either looking out on one of their patios, enjoying the well appointed indoor tasting areas or taking a stroll down to the ponds through the vines. We loved experiencing it all at Ram's Gate and had an amazing first tasting to start the journey ahead.

Trione Vineyards & Winery:

We had the pleasure to sit down and hear the story of family legacy with owner, Mark Trione while we tasted delicious wines sourced from each of their five estate ranches, offering a true delicious taste of place—one sip at a time. Three generations, decades of farming, and five ranches, they are deeply rooted in the Sonoma County wine industry for over fifty years. The family, Vic, Mark and Mark’s daughter Denise, who runs the wine business, focuses on the top 3% of grapes grown for their brand, Trione Wine. The historic 100 year old stone building has been preserved and renovated as event space right on property.

Gloria Ferrer:

Nestled on top of the valley and vineyard lies the Gloria Ferrer estate and as you relax and sit on the outdoor patios you view their vineyards, and pollinating gardens, filled with butterflies and hummingbirds. This vineyard, rich in history, began with a dream passed from father to son.

José Ferrer grew up surrounded by his family’s winemaking tradition in Spain. His heart was set on bringing the art of traditional method sparkling wine to the New World. He didn't make the journey alone, he met Gloria, who shared his love of wine and his sense of adventure. Together they crossed oceans and planted roots in Carneros, where the cool breezes and rolling hills reminded them of home. What began as a shared dream became a pioneering legacy, first sparkling wine estate in the region, this lives on in every bottle of Gloria Ferrer sparkling wine.

We had an amazing afternoon with a six course culinary experience, dishes curated from their own garden and each course complimented with its own signature champagne pairing.  We also while spent time with the young winemaker, Kyle Altomare, who shared with us his passion of blending flavors and putting his skills to work to create and produce 21 different varietals of bubbles while also producing 4 still wines. It was a beautiful afternoon to say the least.

Sangiacomo Wines:

Maria and Vittorio Sangiacomo immigrated from Italy, met and married in San Francisco, and settled on the home ranch in 1927. They planted apples, pears, peaches, prunes and cherries. Focusing on the pears, the family business became one of the largest pear growing operations in California in 1959. But as the pear market softened, they pivoted and planted the first vineyard in 1969. The first vintage of Sangiacomo Family Wines was born in 2016. As one of the oldest properties and a 5th generation vineyards we enjoyed listening to the history, touring the vineyard and tasting the rich, deep heritaged wines on a beautiful afternoon. We even took our favorite bottle of their Pinot Noir to the famous Steakhouse in downtown Napa, Cole's Chophouse to savor with our steak dinner that evening.

Bricoluer Vineyards:

We toured the gorgeous estate of Bricoluer Vineyards. They launched their first vintage in 2017 and opened its tasting room in 2020, tucked away in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, they have been featured on The TODAY Show, and have been honored by USA Today as one of the 10 Best New Wineries in the country. Executive Chef Todd Knoll and his culinary team create seasonal five-course pairings featuring locally sourced ingredients, including produce from their estate gardens, the chefs and winemakers collaborate closely to create "Perfect Pairings" that express the seasonality of the estate’s sustainably farmed culinary garden. We were treated to this delightful experience for lunch and the sips alongside the fresh flavors were something we savored long after we left.

 Aperture:

We had our last stop of the day at Aperture Winery. Andy made his name as one of the greatest photographers of his generation, and his work graces coffee-table books, galleries, and album covers around the globe. While he was traveling the world for his art, he made a point of bringing along his son, Jesse, to experience it all with him. Over the years, they both benefited from an international wine education that even master sommeliers would envy. Now  Jesse Katz has, in a remarkably short period of time, made himself into one of the most respected wine professionals in California. He was the first winemaker ever to be included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, a Wine Enthusiast 40 Under 40 Tastemaker, and had been named a Wine Spectator “Rising Star.”

Eleven Eleven:

A Series Of Serendipitous Events Led To The Founding Of Eleven Eleven

Ellie Anest & Carol Vassilliadis  started out as life long friends and Southern California transplants that fell in love with the Napa Valley.  Expanding their relationship to  focus on real estate investment properties. Our first acquisition was a home surrounded by a 3.5 acre vineyard in the heart of the Oak Knoll AVA. The whisper of this magical vineyard called us to take a chance at producing our own wine. Our search for a winemaker led us to one of Napa’s finest - Kirk Venge. And so it began… Eleven Eleven Wines. Eleven Eleven is the closest winery to the city limits of Napa

we sat down with Ellie, owner, and visited learning more about a wine maker's journey to one of the most beautiful wine tasting rooms and patios we visited. We sipped on the boutique wines and found our favorite Shiraz there that we brought back home. This was a magical day on the vines once again.
