At three years old, Kitty Woo Ham immigrated from Hong Kong, faced with few relatives and a language barrier. Navigating childhood while learning English built her resilience and the compassion she brings to clients today.
Growing up in her parents’ restaurant, Kitty saw food as the heartbeat of her family. Watching them feed others sparked her belief that food should make people feel good, a belief strengthened by her own diet and body.
As a child struggling with eczema, Kitty was prescribed steroid cream by her dermatologist. But it was eating more intentionally that transformed her skin and overall well-being.
“When I worked at a health food store in my twenties, I got really interested in health and nutrition,” says Kitty. “I had to learn a lot in selling the products, and the people there taught me so much about how different nutrients benefit us. I wanted to become a holistic provider from there.”
She established her conventional medical experience as a registered nurse and family nurse practitioner before diving into Ayurvedic medicine. Now, through Enlighten Holistic Health, she supports the mind, body, and spirit through traditional and alternative therapies.
One of Kitty’s clients was a young woman referred by her therapist after years of severe eczema. Upon reviewing her full history, Kitty took a root-cause approach that resulted in clear skin within two weeks—relief the client still maintains.
Many in situations like hers arrive at Enlighten Holistic Health frustrated or skeptical, but leave understanding that Ayurvedic medicine rests on thousands of years of evidence-based practice.
“I love guiding people in their health journey, and seeing them meet and exceed their goals,” says Kitty. “My long-term mission is to help them maintain those goals, so they live life to the fullest.”
