Growing up in the South, food was a big part of our life. If you’re from the South or visited the South, I’m sure you’ve been asked after every meal, “Did you get enough to eat? Because there’s plenty more where that came from!” And it’s true. While I was growing up, the casseroles seemed to never end.
While the casseroles have faded into memory, my love for eating, gathering, and enjoying a meal has only grown. These days it really is about the whole experience. From the freshest ingredients, food color palette, plating, seasonality, and more, a meal is no longer just a meal.
Over the years, I’ve learned how much food and drinks can work together to create a new flavor palette and how flavors can enhance one another to bring out a bolder taste in your mouth.
This is why I love this issue every year. It really is an issue that can bring all your senses together.
Scottsdale truly leads the way within the food and beverage industry. Our style, taste, and ambiance is like no other. From the rise of speakeasies, supper clubs, exclusive chef tastings, and more, Scottsdale has a flavor for everyone.
As you turn the pages of this issue, I hope you're inspired to savor every bite, sip, and moment our city has to offer. Whether you're discovering a hidden gem or revisiting a favorite spot, let yourself be guided by curiosity and your palate. So dig in, explore, and don’t be surprised if you find yourself asking, “Did I get enough?”—because just like back home, there’s always more where that came from.
Cheers!
