For Malek Amrani, wine has never been just about the glass. It’s about people—the conversations it sparks, the stories it carries, and the connections it creates. As co-founder of The Vice Wine, Malek has earned a reputation for crafting small-lot Napa Valley vintages that balance individuality with approachability. “We are a Napa Valley winery with a mission to make exceptional Napa Valley wines accessible to all, forever,” says Malek.
Born with an entrepreneurial spirit and a global perspective, Malek poured his energy into creating a wine label that mirrors his own philosophy: excellence without pretense. For Malek, “a gentleman’s winemaker lets the wine speak, shaping it with patience and respect so that nature’s voice is always the one heard first.” From rich Cabernet Sauvignons to elegant Chardonnays, The Vice offers a portfolio as diverse as the people who enjoy it. Whether shared over an intimate dinner or paired with something as simple as a bagel and schmeer, Malek insists that wine is at its best when it brings people together.
That belief extends far beyond the vineyard. Malek’s benevolence shines through in his support for causes that matter deeply to him. Among them is Fayette County’s own, Two Sparrows Village, a nonprofit dedicated to providing adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities a life full of dignity, opportunity, and community. The mission resonates strongly for Malek. Just as he celebrates individuality in every vintage, he admires how Two Sparrows Village honors the individuality of every person they serve.
His donations of wine to support events like Two Sparrows Village Bird Bash are more than generous gestures; they’re acts of connection and kindness. Giving is one of life’s obligations, and Malek believes that if The Vice can help Two Sparrows Village grow its mission, then that’s the best pairing imaginable.
Malek and his wife Torie recently hosted a group of Two Sparrow Village major donors at their home atop one of the five mountains that surround the Napa Valley. “Walking in after a red-eye and finding my house buzzing with Two Sparrows Village guests was wild in the best way," says Malek. “It was pure fun to see the house alive with so much warmth. I actually felt very honored to find great energy, laughter, glasses clinking, and people connecting. I was reminded that some of the best moments come when our habits are interrupted in the most beautiful of ways."
It is this combination of craft and compassion that defines Malek Amrani. He has built The Vice Wine not only as a brand, but as a philosophy; that luxury should be shared, and that authenticity and generosity matter as much as artistry. In every pour, there is a reminder that Napa’s finest wines can be both world-class and welcoming. And in every act of giving, there is proof that Malek’s true legacy will be measured not only in bottles, but in the lives touched along the way.

“Life is a short ride, be generous with your heart, time, and with what you were gifted. [Giving is] a way to honor the support I’ve received. By giving, I also receive more. It’s very true, what goes around comes around.”
