Kristin Edwards is an award-winning festival planner, destination marketing leader and community strategist who specializes in building experiences that drive economic impact and strengthen local identity. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Visit Johns Creek, where she leads the city’s destination marketing, tourism development and strategic partnerships to attract visitors and support the local hospitality economy.
With more than a decade of experience across municipal government, tourism promotion and large-scale event production, Kristin has built a reputation for turning creative ideas into highly organized, revenue-generating programs. Her work has spanned citywide festivals, cultural programming, industry conferences and tourism campaigns designed to elevate destinations and bring communities together.
Before leading Visit Johns Creek, Kristin served in the Mayor’s Office for the City of Atlanta as the Manager of Nightlife and Culture within the Office of Film, Entertainment, and Nightlife. In that role, she worked directly with nightlife businesses across the city to improve safety practices, navigate permitting and licensing processes and develop policies that supported Atlanta’s hospitality industry. She also produced major industry initiatives, including Training Day, a professional development event that brought together hundreds of nightlife operators, public safety professionals and city leaders to strengthen collaboration and best practices across the industry.
Earlier in her career, Kristin held leadership roles in event programming and facilities management at both the City of Duluth and the City of Winder, where she oversaw large public festivals, entertainment programming and community events that attracted tens of thousands of attendees. Her work included managing volunteers, coordinating vendors and sponsors, overseeing event budgets and developing marketing strategies that increased attendance and regional visibility.
Born and raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Kristin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Georgia Gwinnett College and later earned her Master of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. Outside of her professional work, Kristin is a new mom and wife who enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and turning everyday moments into reasons to celebrate.
