Inspiring Community Growth

The Parker County Chamber of Commerce Celebrated 30 Years of Local Impact at the Annual Awards Gala

There are few organizations that contribute as much to the economic development and growth of communities as the local chambers of commerce. By always being pro-business, offering member services, spotlighting events, ribbon cuttings, networking meetups, and continued support for local businesses, these organizations are focused on putting the interests of the community first.

The Parker County Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated 30 years of supporting community growth at their awards gala, where the theme was: “Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future.”

It was an evening for businesses, nonprofits, and community members to gather and reflect on the tremendous growth the Parker County region has seen in the last 30 years. At the event, several community leaders, businesses, and organizations were recognized for their contributions to the community.

The Nonprofit of the Year Award was given to Freedom House, an area organization that plays a vital role in offering services and support to survivors of domestic violence.

The Legacy Member Award went to Lyn Walsh, co-founder of Careity Foundation, a local nonprofit that provides support to cancer patients and their families through services such as mental health resources and financial assistance.

The Young Professional of the Year Award was presented to Beth Utley, owner of Sweet Southern Blowouts, recognizing and celebrating her business ventures, as well as her commitment and contribution to the community.

The Ambassador of the Year Award was given to Belinda Dickard of CB Air Conditioning & Heating for her leadership and participation in Chamber events, as well as her efforts in new member recruitment.

The Friend of the Chamber Award went to Leon Henry, founder of 3C Wealth Management, who was recognized for his readiness to serve, his constant support, and his dedication to the Chamber.

This year, another Friend of the Chamber Award was given to Denise and Gary Templeton for their committee service, support of the Chamber, and the creation of custom pieces and recognition items for Chamber events.

Several Business of the Year Awards were also given to area companies making big impacts.

  • The Business of the Year Award for 1-10 Employees was awarded to Dr. Renea Skelton.
  • The Business of the Year Award for 11-20 Employees was received by Overture Home Care.
  • The Business of the Year Award for 21-50 Employees was presented to DT Roofing.
  • And the Business of the Year Award for 50+ Employees was given to JRJ Construction.

Lisa Flowers, the President and CEO of the Parker County Chamber of Commerce, had nothing but high praise for the businesses and community leaders who were recognized at the awards gala.

“Each of these award recipients represents the very best of Parker County," said Flowers. "Their dedication, leadership, and commitment to serving others are what continue to make Parker County an exceptional place to live, work, and do business.”

While the event honored and celebrated the past, it also looked to the future and the promising path for continued growth in Parker County’s business and economic sectors.
