Capoeira Maculelê Alpharetta is proud to bring their award-winning Brazilian Capoeira program to the community. Capoeira is a unique Brazilian martial art that blends music, dance and self-defense into one powerful and joyful practice. It’s not just about kicks and acrobatics - it’s a cultural experience filled with rhythm, creativity and connection. We caught up with Dani Da Silva to find out more.

Why did you choose Alpharetta for your newest studio?
We chose Alpharetta because it’s such a vibrant, family-oriented city. We’ve been teaching in Atlanta for over 20 years, and when we saw the opportunity to expand here, it felt like the perfect fit. We love the energy of the community and can’t wait to share Capoeira with more families.

Tell us about the benefits of our kids martial arts training for 4-10 year olds.
Our kids’ program is all about building confidence, discipline, coordination and teamwork in a fun and supportive way. Children learn self-defense skills while developing respect, focus and resilience skills that serve them in school and life. We tell parents, it's a one-stop shop where kids learn martial arts, Portuguese language, gymnastics, music and instruments. Classes are ongoing, so families can start at any time.

And, for adults, what level of fitness do I need to get the most out of a class?
No experience or fitness level is required, just bring your energy and an open mind! Capoeira adapts to every skill level. Whether you’re looking for a great workout, to learn something new, or a way to relieve stress, our classes will meet you where you are and help you grow stronger, more flexible and more confident.

Tell us about your location for birthday parties and events.
It's a spacious location perfect for high-energy, unforgettable events. Kids and adults get to experience Capoeira in a safe and fun environment with music, games and martial arts all led by our world-renowned instructors.

I know your team works hard. Introduce them to our readers.

We are a true family business! As a family from Brazil, we’ve dedicated our lives to sharing authentic Capoeira with the Atlanta community and now we’re thrilled to bring that same passion to Alpharetta.

World Maculelê Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing cultural education, building community and improving the lives of children in underserved communities through the art of Capoeira. Each initiative is rooted in the belief that Capoeira is more than movement; it's a powerful tool for growth and transformation. Through safe learning environments, art and culture workshops, health education, positive role models and nutritious snacks, we give children the support they need to thrive. As students learn Capoeira’s music, history and philosophy, they develop physical and emotional strength, problem-solving skills, lasting friendships and self-esteem. World Maculelê Arts meets a vital need for safe, accessible spaces where youth can participate in activities that foster positive change through the arts, better health and cultural connectedness. To remove barriers, we offer free, inclusive, year-round programs in underserved communities, ensuring every child has the chance to experience the joy and empowerment of Capoeira. Our outreach programs include performances, workshops and interactive demonstrations at schools, festivals, libraries and community centers! Kids and adults not only get to see Capoeira in action; they get to clap, sing, move and feel part of its vibrant rhythm. For many, it’s their first introduction to Brazilian culture, and it sparks a sense of wonder, joy and belonging.
