BackPack Beginnings
BackPack Beginnings connects children and their families with resources needed to thrive. Founded in 2010, they serve more than 27,000 children annually throughout Guilford County, and their programs make a positive impact on the health and well-being of children in our community. They distribute basic goods such as food, clothing, hygiene products, books, school supplies, and more, along with running a Family Market, Guilford County Diaper Bank, Soup Kitchen, and Beyond the Basics, a personalized coaching program. College Pathways
College Pathways of the Triad was established as a non-profit in 2022 and had their first graduating class in 2024. They provide free comprehensive, personalized guidance in the college search, test prep, application, and financial aid processes as well as ongoing mentoring and support. Students begin the program in February of their junior year and participate through the summer following their senior year, with additional support provided while the students are in college. Weekly meetings are held during the school year, and there are additional events like group college tours during the school year and summer. The structure forges a strong sense of community among staff, volunteers, and students, providing students with both adult and peer support as they navigate the transition to college. Kellin Foundation
The Kellin Foundation is a Greensboro-based nonprofit behavioral health organization that has been serving Guilford County since 2013. Through trauma-informed prevention, treatment, and healing services, the organization helps children, families, and individuals of all ages build resilience and access support when they need it most. Services are offered at the Kellin Foundation Hope Hub, in schools, and throughout the community to help reduce barriers to care. A key part of Kellin Foundation's work is supporting children's mental health. Through school-based mental health services, clinicians provide counseling and support to students during the school day in partnership with local schools. Kellin Kids, the Foundation's youth engagement program, helps children build confidence, resilience, and compassion through hands-on activities, service projects, and educational events that encourage positive mental health and community connection. Victory Junction
Victory Junction is a year-round camp for children living with complex medical and physical conditions. Founded by Kyle Petty and family in honor of his son Adam, Victory Junction provides life-changing experiences that are exciting, fun, and empowering in a medically safe environment that's always free of charge, thanks to the generosity of donors and corporate partners. Victory Junction programming is designed to build confidence and foster independence, helping children, families, and caregivers find belonging and build skills that fuel their journeys far beyond Camp. In addition to onsite sessions, Victory Junction’s OUTREACH program delivers Camp experiences to children in hospitals, clinics, and community partner sites throughout the Carolinas and Virginia. Since opening in 2004, Victory Junction has provided more than 150,000 experiences to children from all 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and four countries.
