More than a MedSpa

A local story about grief, legacy, leadership, and creating a space that feels like home.

I never planned on running a medical spa. Not really. I grew up in the beauty world, watching my mom, Cyndi, build businesses with grit, heart, and her incredible ability to make people feel instantly at home. She was our mom, but she was also our mentor, role model, and best friend. When she passed away, everything I thought I understood about life, our business, and who I was shifted overnight.

Suddenly, my sisters and I were not just grieving. We were responsible for something deeply meaningful: her legacy. It felt like impossible shoes to fill. We were heartbroken and stepping into roles we were not sure we were ready for. In a weird way, grief cut through the noise and reshaped our perception of beauty and business altogether. I found myself replaying memories of her leadership. The way she could challenge you while somehow making you feel more than capable. The way she supported and deeply valued her team. The way clients and coworkers naturally became family around her.

As my sister, Talisha, and I stepped into our roles, we made a promise to lead with the same love and integrity she did: everything we build, offer, or decide must reflect the kind of environment our mom valued. A place where people feel at home with us, with our team, and in their own skin. Because what she taught us, without ever saying it directly, was that real confidence doesn't come from changing someone. It comes from caring for them. That understanding became the foundation for how we would lead together. We also knew that the true success of this business wouldn't happen with us alone. It's the community we build inside these four walls, shaped by the people who walk through them.

Six and a half years later, we truly see the impact of leading with a "what would Cyndi do" mentality. The women who work here are the kind of people who show up for each other. They send texts to check in on our tough days and celebrate wins, big and small. People often ask what makes our team so close-knit. The truth? This place has seen us through real-life grief, breakups, babies, career changes, new houses, tough years, and loud laughs. Losing something or someone so meaningful really shines a light on what things truly matter, and we support each other not just as co-workers and providers but as humans. That support translates directly into the energy clients feel the moment they walk through the door.

Now, every day, we watch our team build connections with clients just as our mom did. We see women encouraging other women. We see clients who started as strangers, become friends. We hear stories about people feeling understood here in a way they hadn't experienced before. We see confidence grow in all areas of life, and, despite still feeling like a lost puppy sometimes, there are quiet little moments when I can feel my mom is watching and I think, "she would be so proud of this."

This journey has shaped who we are as women, as providers, and as leaders in ways that we could never have imagined. It's been the most challenging and rewarding experience of our lives. If there's one thing we want people to take away from our story, it's that life is often strange (as if we all didn't know that already), but sometimes the most uncertain and heartbreaking moments can lead to the most beautiful and fulfilling lessons learned.

At the end of the day, this isn't just a story about a med spa. It's a story about community. About carrying forward the kind of love that outlives a lifetime. About learning to honor the beauty in grief and creating something that makes others feel the way my mom made us feel. Like you're exactly where you're meant to be.

This is more than a med spa.
It's a family business in the truest sense of the word.
A place built on connection, heart, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel at home in our space and in their own skin. A space where you're treated like family, because to us, you are.

And if our mom taught us anything, it's that when you lead with love and treat people like family, your impact becomes something that outlives you long after you're gone.

That's the legacy we get to continue, together.

With love, Bella, Talisha and the St. George Medspa family
