More Than Skin Deep

Inside Indigo Med Spa, where connection comes first

At first glance, Indigo Med Spa offers what you might expect: facials, injectables, skin treatments designed to help women look and feel their best.

But step inside, and it becomes clear; this isn’t just about aesthetics.

It’s about something deeper.

“This isn’t just about beauty,” said Suzanne Singleton, owner of Indigo Med Spa. “This is a movement.”

A Shift in Purpose
Indigo Med Spa wasn’t originally built with that mission in mind. Over time, Singleton reshaped it into something entirely different.

After taking over the business in 2020, she quickly realized a traditional med spa model wasn’t going to fulfill her.

“I was a hospice nurse before I ever got into aesthetics,” Singleton said. “So just doing Botox all day wasn’t going to do it for me.”

Instead, she started paying closer attention to the women sitting across from her each day. Their stories began to sound familiar.

“I noticed they were all saying the same things,” she said. “Everyone is looking for connection. There’s no connection anymore.”

That realization changed everything.

A Place to Land
Today, Indigo feels less like a clinical setting and more like a gathering place—one built on trust, honesty and the understanding that everyone who walks through the door is carrying something.

“We have one rule,” Singleton said. “You feel better when you leave than when you walked in. Period.”

Sometimes that means a treatment. Other times, it means sitting and talking or simply having somewhere to go.

“One day, a woman walked in and said, ‘My husband just died. I just need a place to sit,’” Singleton recalled. “And I thought: this is it. This is what we’ve created. A place where people feel safe.”

That sense of safety has turned clients into something more.

“We have a very loyal and devoted following,” she shared. “But it’s because we’ve built real relationships. We’ve cried together. We’ve celebrated together. These are my people.”

Beyond the Surface
While Indigo still offers aesthetic services, Singleton is clear: they are not the end goal.

“I do believe when you feel good, you are better,” she said. “But that’s not going to fix everything. It’s deeper than that.”

Instead, she sees her role as helping women reconnect with themselves.

“We just get so lost in life that we forget who we are,” she said. “And sometimes, we need someone to remind us.”

That philosophy also shows up in how Indigo approaches treatments.

“We’re not pushy. We don’t sell people things they don’t need,” Singleton said. “I’ve had 22-year-olds come in after being told they need thousands of dollars of work. That’s not who we are.”

Instead, the focus is on meeting people where they are, both emotionally and practically.

“If someone can’t do something big, we figure out something that works for them,” she said. “There’s always a way.”

A Team That Feels Like Family
Indigo’s culture extends beyond clients. Singleton is quick to point out that what they’ve built is a true team.

“It’s not me; it’s us,” she said. “We are a family. These girls know there’s nothing they could come to me with that I wouldn’t try to help with.”

That sense of loyalty and care is intentional…and non-negotiable.

“We focus on support, kindness and lifting each other up.”

The result is something clients can feel immediately.

“It’s like coming home,” she said. “Like going to your best friend’s house.”

Rooted in Blue Springs
Though she’s had opportunities to expand elsewhere, Singleton has chosen to keep Indigo rooted in Blue Springs—the community that supported her from the beginning.

“I’m a loyalty girl,” she said. “These are the people who showed up for me. I won’t forget that.”

That loyalty runs both ways. Many of her clients have been with her for years, and new ones often come through word of mouth.

“They’re not just clients,” she said. “They’re part of this.”

A Different Kind of Beauty
At its core, Indigo Med Spa is about more than appearances. It’s about helping women feel seen, heard and supported in a world that often moves too fast to allow for any of those things.

“People just want to feel better right now, and they want to be heard,” Singleton said.

So whether someone walks in for a treatment, a conversation or simply a moment to breathe, the goal remains the same.

“We’re just trying to remind women who they already are,” she said.

And in a world that rarely slows down long enough to do that, Indigo offers something rare: A place to reconnect—with yourself and with each other.
