Honest Maids to the Rescue

Even the busiest moms deserve a little relief and a fresh start

Crystal knows what it’s like to have a busy household. As a mom of a teenage son and a young daughter, her days are filled with responsibilities—keeping up with schedules, manages a home, and makes sure everyone is taken care of.

A few years ago, Crystal faced an unexpected challenge. In 2022, she found herself laid off and navigating the uncertainty of being a single mom in between jobs. What could have been a stopping point became a turning point.

Determined to provide for her family, Crystal put every last dime she had into helping others. Her efforts to make ends meet soon revealed a need within her community. She quickly realized how much of a difference it made for families, especially other women who were juggling daily responsibilities, to have even one thing taken off their plate. That realization eventually led to Honest Maids.

When asked what keeps her and Honest Maids going, Crystal shares, “Honest Maids was built on survival, and I want to help other women and moms build stability for their families while also helping our clients enjoy their clean, healthy spaces.”

Today, Honest Maids is entirely women-run, something Crystal is especially proud of. What began as a necessity has grown into an opportunity, not only for her, but for the women she employs and the families she serves. While the team currently has eleven members, she hopes to continue growing the business while staying true to the same values that have guided it from the beginning.

Crystal says the most rewarding part of her work are the relationships she builds with her clients along the way. “While we are there to do a job, and we do it well, we also get to know the families. We witness their lives growing and changing, from cleaning their first home to welcoming their first child, to moments of loss and heartbreak and everything in between. That’s the part I love the most.”

In some cases, the work goes beyond routine cleaning. Crystal and her team have helped individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, offering support so they can start fresh in spaces that once felt unmanageable. "We help individuals with depression and anxiety get back on track in their homes," she shared. "These moments are about more than the work itself. They are an opportunity to show up for people when they need it and help them find a sense of relief and control."

What began as a moment of uncertainty has grown into something far greater than Crystal ever imagined. Through her work, she has not only created stability for her own family, but has also built something that supports others in meaningful ways. For her, it’s not just about the homes she helps care for, but the people inside them, and the difference even a small act of help can make.
