For Amy Goldstein, success in the mortgage industry has always been personal.
Guided by her father, Gary Schiller, she has spent 26 years at BMIC Mortgage, Inc. in Gaithersburg, building a career rooted in trust, relationships, and a family-first philosophy. Licensed in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Florida, she specializes in home purchase and refinance loans — but says the work goes far beyond transactions.
After graduating from Long Island University, Goldstein planned to spend six months working with her father. She never left.
“If it wasn’t for my dad, I wouldn’t have this rich and full career,” she said.
That foundation shaped her approach. “We’re a close-knit family, so we treat our clients like family. We know their kids and milestones — this isn’t just about transactions.”
That philosophy has led to a 98 percent client retention rate since 1989. “Our clients know they can call or text me anytime,” Goldstein said.
Schiller describes their partnership as one built on respect and trust. “Amy is my business partner, my confidant, and my trusted second set of eyes,” he said.
Goldstein brings that same mindset to her clients, emphasizing preparation early. “Knowing what you can afford is critical,” she said.
As an instructor with the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors, she prioritizes clarity. “My job is to make sure clients don’t fall in love with a home they can’t afford.”
