SHECANLOVE

Luxury You Live In, Confidence You Wear

For Sher Canada, the founder of SHECANLOVE, clothing has always been about more than what hangs in a closet. It’s about how a woman feels when she looks in the mirror, and whether she recognizes her own beauty staring back.

That philosophy is the same one that inspired her to write her book, The Mirror’s Been Lying to You. At its core, both the book and the brand share a singular mission: to help women feel beautiful, confident, and comfortable in their own skin.

“I just want to make women feel and look beautiful,” she says. “That’s my goal."

SHECANLOVE was created as a one-stop destination for women who want elevated pieces that fit seamlessly into real life. The brand’s trademarked mantra, "luxury you live in," comes to life through thoughtfully curated collections that span golf, tennis, athleisure, and dresses for both day and night. The idea is simple: no matter the occasion, she can dress you for it.

What began as a small tennis-focused concept offered in the Ritz-Carlton eventually evolved into SHECANLOVE as it exists today. The brand found its home in Naples, and this June will mark five years in its current location at 858 Neapolitan Way.

Launching the boutique, however, wasn’t without its moments of hesitation. After spending her career working for large corporations, taking the leap into entrepreneurship came with a new kind of risk - especially signing a five-year lease.

“When you sign your name to a lease like that, you can’t change your mind,” she explains. “I’d never had to do that before. Once you do it, you’re all in.”

The brand’s name itself carries deep personal meaning. “She Can” comes from the first three letters of her first name and the first three letters of her last name - a coincidence she embraced wholeheartedly. “Who gets a name like that?” she says with a laugh. “Talk about female empowerment.” The word Love was later added during her time at the Ritz for a tennis concept, but the full name stuck. Today, SHECANLOVE is more than a brand, but a mantra she proudly carries everywhere.

At the heart of the boutique experience is personalization. Her approach to styling mirrors the guidance found in her book, which includes chapters on finding personal style, choosing flattering pieces, buying pants for your body, and even taking better photos.

“The clothes are just the extra sauce on top,” she says. “My real goal is how you feel.” Whether it’s pulling a shade of blue to accentuate a customer’s eyes or choosing silhouettes that highlight what makes each woman unique, her process always starts with seeing the individual first.

Building a boutique also brought unexpected lessons, especially after coming from a corporate environment with thousands of stores and extensive support teams. “When you have 2,200 stores, there’s a whole team handling everything,” she explains. “When you have one store, you still have to do all the same things. That was the biggest shock.”

As for what’s next, her book The Mirror’s Been Lying to You will be available at the end of the month, both in-store and on Amazon. Her hope is simple and heartfelt: that every woman who reads it walks away with at least one takeaway that helps her feel more beautiful.
