Recipe Name- Mongolian Beef

Ingredients:

For the Beef:

2 lbs flank steak, thinly sliced

1/4 cup cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

For Garnish:

4 green onions, sliced

 Sesame seeds (optional)

For the Sauce:

1/2 cup soy sauce (preferably low sodium)

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup brown sugar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Directions:

Instructions:

Prepare the Beef: Place the sliced flank steak in a bowl and toss it with the cornstarch, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the beef until it is crispy and brown on the outside, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet. Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. In the same skillet you fried the beef, add a little more oil, if needed, and sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Pour in the sauce mixture and bring it to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens. Combine the Beef and Sauce: Return the fried beef to the skillet with the sauce. Stir to coat the beef evenly. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and further coat the beef. Serve & Garnish: Serve the Mongolian Beef over steamed white rice. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
