Confidence is the best makeup, but great skin comes close.

"Caring for our skin is more than a routine. It's an investment in how we all feel every day," reminds Becca Daly-Bundy, MSN, FNP-C, owner of Balanced Beauty Medical Aesthetics in Greenwood.

"When skin looks healthy, balanced and radiant, people naturally feel more confident showing up as their best selves. Healthy skin supports a quiet confidence that comes from feeling comfortable in your own skin," she adds.

Dedicated and proper skincare does more than improve appearance, however. It often strengthens how someone feels about themselves. In fact, health specialists indicate the act of caring for one's skin releases "feel-good" chemicals, such as dopamine, and signals to each person's brain that they matter, which in turn enhances inner confidence.

Becca's medical background brings a clinical, safety-first lens to aesthetic medicine. As a certified family nurse practitioner with 13 years of nursing experience, she received her master's degree in nursing from University of Indianapolis. She previously worked for Community Health Network prior to being a nurse practitioner. As an appointment-only office, her medspa office is located at 1150 S. State Road 135.

She says she sees actual transformations within clients each week.

"Healthy, well-cared-for skin can create a sense of confidence and self-assurance because it reflects intentional self-care. When people establish a consistent routine, such as cleansing, protecting with SPF and nourishing with quality products, they're investing in their well-being," Becca states. "That daily ritual alone can foster a feeling of control and pride in one’s appearance."

Clearer, more radiant skin also tends to reduce the urge to hide behind makeup or avoid being seen up close, says this aesthetic nurse practitioner. She adds that when skin looks healthy, people often feel more comfortable in social settings, during professional interactions, and even in simple everyday moments.

There is also a significant psychological component of skincare's foundation: self-care reinforces self-worth. Over time, Becca says that commitment builds confidence that feels natural rather than forced. In essence, she states the bottomline is that thoughtful skincare supports confidence in three ways:

  • Visible results: smoother, brighter, healthier-looking skin.
  • Daily self-care rituals: reinforcing personal value and wellness.
  • Comfort in your own skin: feeling at ease without needing to conceal or correct.

She provides injectable and non-injectable treatments, including microneedling, laser and chemical peels. She believes that multiple treatment modalities are the most effective way to treat skin concerns. She says the VI Peel uses a safe, effective blend of acids and antioxidants to improve skin tone, texture, hyperpigmentation, acne and sun damage, with minimal downtime and positive results starting after one week. She also provides various custom treatments, such as Aerolase Neo Elite for acne, melasma, redness and hyperpigmentation.

Becca provides personalized facials for all skin types, ones safe for pregnancy, breastfeeding and individuals undergoing chemotherapy or radiation.

When skin is healthy and supported, Becca says she witnesses that confidence tends to follow, because feeling good about one's skin allows people to show up fully, naturally and comfortably.
