Inside the Wellness World of Dr. Anna Le

Walk into Anna Health and you might momentarily forget you're at a doctor's office. Soft lighting. Thoughtful palettes. Furniture that belongs more in Architectural Digest than a waiting room. But for Dr. Anna Le, every square foot is an extension of the mission: care that feels human.

“I always tell my staff, our patients are VIPs,” says Dr. Le, founder and physician extraordinaire behind one of Northern Virginia’s most beloved wellness practices. “Regardless of insurance, status, or anything else—they should feel deeply heard.”

From her first patients, whom she personally checked in and out during her solo startup days, to the 5,000 patients her offices now see each month, Dr. Le’s brand of medicine is part science, part soul.

Born in Vietnam, Dr. Le was a physics and math prodigy who earned a spot at the prestigious Polytechnic University—a near-impossible feat in a school where “sometimes not even one student made it in.” But her dreams of academic glory shifted when she followed her mother and siblings to the U.S. “I was lonely there,” she reflects. “And I thought maybe America would give me a better place.”

So, how did she pick medicine? She laughs. “Honestly, I asked my friend which job makes the most money, and they said doctor. That’s how I chose it!” But what began as a financial strategy quickly became a calling.

“I didn’t know at the time that if you love something and have passion, you’ll be successful no matter what.”

After graduating from GW and completing her residency at Howard, Dr. Le stayed on to teach residents—but her heart belonged in the community. With zero business experience, she walked into a lawyer’s office and said, “I want to open a practice.” When he asked what she’d call it, she paused. “He said, ‘Well, you’re in Annandale… and your name is Anna. That’s a sign!’” she laughs.

Her first six months were rocky. Insurance claims had to be filled out by hand and mailed, and she worked as both receptionist and physician. “Some patients loved that I did everything.” she recalls. “But I just knew—I’m going to be fine.”

Fine turned into thriving. Today, her multi-location practice offers everything from OB-GYN to family medicine, fertility support, and hormone therapy—and now, care for men too.

Dr. Le’s philosophy is rooted in proactive, long-view care. “Patients don’t know what they don’t know,” she says—something echoed by her team leader Thomas. “If a patient has an issue, Dr. Le always asks: why? Not just for that one person, but how do we fix the system for everyone?”

She trains her staff the same way: with empathy and evolution in mind. “We have daily huddles, lectures, even our own internal 'Doctor Anna University,'” she says. “We’re building an algorithm so that everyone—from new PAs to seasoned MDs—can offer the same level of deep, layered care.”

And when it comes to reviews? “Even if we meant well, if a patient leaves unhappy, we learn from it. We audit the process. We go deeper.”

Dr. Le’s offices aren’t just calming—they’re chic. Think: modern classic meets functional sanctuary. “It all started with a business card,” she says. “My husband said, ‘Pick your color first.’ I didn’t get it then, but now I see—style communicates who we are.”

From soft neutrals and curated accents to luxe staff breakrooms, her design sensibility is intentional. “I want both patients and providers to feel good the moment they walk in.”

And they do. Staff stay for years, many returning after nursing or PA school. Their kids intern. Their families are supported. “We take care of each other.”

With 1,500 baby deliveries this year and 5,000 visits a month, Anna Health is not just busy—it’s building something enduring. The next frontier? Patient navigators, standardized women’s health protocols, and broader access to high-quality, insurance-covered care.

When asked what excites her most about the future, she smiles: “Reaching more people. Impacting more lives. Making healthcare less scary, more stylish, and more human.”

Because at the end of the day, Dr. Le isn’t just designing a practice. She’s designing a legacy of care that feels as beautiful as it is transformative.

“Our patients are VIPs, regardless of insurance, status, or anything else.”
